What are export controls?
Export controls are rules on the export of strategic goods, such as dual-use items under Regulation (EU) 2021/821 and military goods. A licence may be required for these goods.
What is an Internal Compliance Program (ICP)?
An ICP is the set of policies, procedures and controls a company uses to ensure compliance with export controls and sanctions legislation. The European Commission has published guidance for this in Recommendation (EU) 2019/1318.
What does sanctions legislation mean for my company?
Sanctions can prohibit or restrict trade with certain countries, persons and entities. This requires screening of customers, suppliers and end users, and clear procedures in your order process.
